The football club Cagliari Calcio S.p.a., usually just called Cagliari, is a professional men’s club in Italy and competes in Serie A, the highest level of men’s soccer in the Italian soccer hierarchy. The club’s home ground is Unipol Domus in Cagliari, Sardinia.

The club was founded in 1920. They rose to prominence as becoming the first side ever to win the Serie C Championship in the 1951-1952 season and debuted in Serie B. After a brief demotion back to Serie C in the early part of the 1960s, the team then quickly ascended back to Serie B and debuted in Serie A in 1964.
