The building was purchased in 1970 and redesigned into a sound stage for the post-production company Cinetronics, Ltd, which moved downtown in 1984. In 1985 the theatre reopened and has remained a part of Chicago’s culture ever since. It has been known as the home to the well-known and long-running Blue Man Group since 1997.
