This black metal trio formed in Portland, Ore., in 2013 after the break-up of Stonecreep, Andy Mercil, bassist and vocalist, and Matt Litton, guitarist and vocalist, both former members joined forces to create a heavier speed metal band. They now go by the pseudonyms Infernal Magus of Nocturnal Alchemy and Unholy Weaver of Shadows & Incantations. As a duo, they put together three demos Satanic Panic, Wild Blasphemy, and Midnight Hunter from 2013 to 2015. They later compiled these demos into the compilation Grand Rites of the Wicked after signing with Century Media Records. The band’s first full-length studio album was the self-titled Bewitcher was released in 2016 with the single “To Fast for the Flames”. They employed the tales of Randall “Diabolic Crusher of Hallowed Light” Crusher” before Aris Wales joined the band as a full-time drummer in 2019.
Bewitcher released their most successful album to date is Under the Witching Cross in 2019 with three singles “Satanic Magick Attack”, “Mystifier (White Night City)” and “Valley of the Ravens”. Their third album Cursed Be Thy Kingdom released in 20201 has also received rave reviews. This black metal, speed metal band leans heavily on the satanic-inspired lyrics and fans can see them live today with Bewitcher tickets.
