Wow Hall served as a meeting place for the Woodmen of the World and included a hard rock maple dance floor. Square dancing and ballroom dancing events were frequently held at the venue. Wow Hall was listed on the market in 1975. When no buyer was available, the building was in danger of being demolished. Fans of the structure founded the “Committee to Secure a Westside Community Center for the Performing Arts” and eventually purchased the building in 1983.
